Rather than swimming, the Epaulette shark 'walks' using its fins as legs and moving its body. They can survive for hours with little oxygen and can climb and walk on land to reach a suitable aquatic area.

INTERESTING FACTS

This nocturnal shark lives mainly in tropical coastal waters and shallow coral reefs along the coasts of Australia and New Guinea. The species is protected in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in Australia.  The ocellated shark feeds on small fish, worms and crustaceans.
